Wanted parents and children

Realization of a short or medium film, with a script written by the students, creating a synergy between school/families/associations of the territory.

The students participated actively in all the stages necessary to produce the short-film, from the writing of the script, to the creation of scenery and costumes, to the acting, shooting and editing, to the ideas and making of the music connected to the stories that were inserted in the soundtrack with original pieces.

Main theme: perception of oneself and of others, use of new media, interpersonal relationships, cyberbullying.

Work tools

A group of adults with artistic, audiovisual and musical competences: teachers, family members, voluntary workers.

Pen and paper, portable computer, musical instruments and especially equipment for the shooting.

It is important to cooperate in drawing up a program so as to optimize duties and timing.

Various spaces are necessary, more or less large, depending on the number of people involved in the activity and on what has to be done.

    Listening
    • Understands and evaluates events, materials, and musical works recognising their meanings, also in relation to his/her own musical experience and the different historical/sociological context.
    Production
    • Actively participating in music experiences through the execution and the interpretation of vocal and instrumental music pieces belonging to different genres and cultures.
    • Capacity to conceive and create music and multimedia messages, also though improvisation or collective elaboration processes, using also IT tools, in critical confrontation with models belonging to the musical heritage
    Reading and Writing
    • Using different notation systems functional to reading, analysis and reproduction of pieces of music
    • Integrating one’s own music experience with other knowledge and practices using appropriate codes and codification systems
Educational targets

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES – non-disciplinary
The students learned how to:
- work in a group interacting in a positive way
- reflect, on their own and with others, on the situation to be represented
- plan and assume how to represent a specific situation
- activate strategies for the realization of a common project

DISCIPLINARY OBJECTIVES
Italian language
The students learned how to :
- invent a story after observing the reality
- write a script with their classmates
- distinguish different types of subjects and represent them even by creating a character

Technology
The students learned how to:
- identify the characteristics of different materials, and adapt and use them to plan and create scenery and costumes
- create a setting under the adults’ guidance
- use simple video equipment
- carry out simple steps of film editing

Art and image
The students learned how to:
- read different types of images
- draw their own look, even imaginary
- draw a sketch

Theater
The students learned how to:
- memorize texts written on their own
- express themselves before a group and a video camera using their voices and body expression

Music
The students learned how to:
- perform brief personal creations expressed both in an extemporary and coded way
- share ideas working with others on the same theme
- use Orff instruments or traditional instruments
- perform a piece in group, alternating coded parts with moments of free and/or structured improvisation
- choose timbres and rhythms suitable to express the characters’ emotions or situations to be represented
- read a simple score, realized even in a non-conventional way
- develop critical thinking and evaluate the aesthetic value of their work and that of others
- experience a deep sense of acceptance and mutual respect
- listen to others and to themselves
- develop musical structures in which they created their pieces
